I'm going to say right off the bat... as pure eye candy, you will not find a better movie. Ever. Except maybe the third one which has yet to be determined.

That being said, I want to get the things that bugged me about the movie off my chest. Yes, spoilers. So don't READ, if you haven't SEEN it. Kay? I just... these things need to be said on my part.

I will forever cherish Peter Cullen. His voice is so captivating and amazing. I love you, man, you're the best voice (and adorable little man) that's ever honored our ears by hearing you speak.

On to the movie.

I think deep down we were all worried this would happen.... the sequel disease of cramming too much shit into one space (and they did say shit a lot, which was hilarious at times but kind of startled me for PG-13). As much as this is wonderful, beautiful eye candy at its best, I think Michael Bay was just trying too hard to cram. it all. in.

It honestly reminded me a bit of the Transformers: Animated ending. Rushed. Final fight sceeeeeene, WHY did you last literally only like a minute?

Also, I smell a fandom love of Simmons x Leo fanfic slash. Uh oh. Leo was cute, sorta, in his own... interesting way. But I wanted to kill him. Everyone did. Everyone. Simmons was adorable. I loved him.

I know I'm jumping around on subjects here, but it's three thirty in the morning and I can't sleep til I type this up.

Sideswipe. Someone, for the love of god, write fic of him. Draw him. Something. Hell, I'll RP him with you, anyone, because HE. Deserved. More. SCREENTIME. He was the most badass thing I've seen in a very very long time (until later in the movie of course, Optimus quickly stole the spotlight) and it was right in the beginning and he was fucking amazing (cocky, but rightfully so) and he should have had more screentime damnit. I was so scared he was going to die. ;-; Also, every time his vehicle mode was on the screen you can't help but stare. It's one of the most graceful, sleek, dangerous looking designs ever created and I bow before Chevy's greatness for creating the concept. I really, really really hope they come out of bankruptcy to make that car come to life. It...it just needs to be done.

Soundwave. Holy mother of Primus. I keep saying they are all badass, I know, but seriously. I'm glad he stuck his ass safely in orbit, because if he ended up dying I think I would have cried. Must return for third movie. MUST. That VOICE. His mouth did strange things, but mmm.... tentacle/probe rape of innocent satellite in orbit. Yummy. And did anyone NOTICE the humongous size difference between him and his pet Ravage? Soundwave is massive. I hope Shockwave will be in the third. And Lazerbeak too, while I'm at it.

That brings me to Ravage. Oh, you had such an epic death, and you were so pretty. You will be sorely missed. I felt bad for about a second then realized how badass Bumblebee was for ripping out your spine. ;-; The reconaissance-like mission with him was really neat, I enjoyed it. And you run fast. Holy shit you run fast.

Alice? Wtf. I'm going to pretend that whole thing didn't exist at all. Michael Bay, what the hell were you thinking. (At least he didn't turn Sam into part-Cybertronian). She was creepy from the beginning, entirely NOT subtle whatsoever, and I knew what the hell she was from the very beginning. The lubricant all over her face though? I love you Bee.

Starscream. Incredibly in-character. Wonderful suck-up to Megatron, and they both had wonderful interactions with each other. Old married couple indeed. I can squee more about him later.

Megatron. *sigh* This is where things get tricky for me. With the whole Fallen being 'master' kind of deal, I think that was overdone. I just...it's just not right for me to feel that Megatron obediently obeys someone else. It's just never been in his programming, and I just wish I could have seen a less obedient Megatron fighting the Fallen's ideals. I think it would have created a better dynamic overall, and would have added more emotion to Megatron other than a blind follower of someone that seemingly came out of nowhere. I mean, HE was after the Allspark for HIMSELF ("MINE....Allspark!"), and then he suddenly obeys the Fallen. It just doesn't seem to fit. Overall though, I was glad he came back so fast. Then again, the whole movie was really, really fast paced (whole bunch of shit crammed down your throat. Good shit, admittedly).

Optimus. Hm. Badass? Most definitely. His political speak is delicious, especially in his main part concerning this. They might have spent a tad too much time on it, however, since the final scene was so short. Seemed slightly out of character as I read somewhere else. Obliterating Demolisher by a blast to the head.... was really harsh... But I know movieverse is considerably more dark and WAR like compared to the cartoon (it was a CARTOON, after all, for KIDS), but I don't know if I completely get it... Optimus was just... insanely badass, yet, too.... dare I say, Decepticon? I'm sure his motives were clear, with the war becoming so desperate and all. There was a lot of killing on both sides.... I don't know. My mind is muddled. And he also had one of the quickest 'recovery of Optimus Prime' cliches in the world of Transformers. It had to be done, of course, and I didn't mind it. The field fight with him and Megs, Screamer, and Blackout? Orgasmically, insanely wonderful. Couldn't ask for a better fight scene. Optimus... he kicked more ass in that scene then probably any and all Optimus Prime's ever. Not an exaggeration.

The Fallen. So awesome. His beard thingy that moved? Yum. He had a great voice actor and he was... yes, I'll say it again, extremely badass. That staff thing he has, wow. And he's also great eye candy. His design is yummy and on fire and I've grown really attached to it. (Wasn't I supposed to be saying the things that bug me? Oops. I'm sure I'll get to that.)

Oh, and sparklings/hatchlings? What is this? D:

Devastator. Needed more screentime, preferably without Twin interaction that made it entirely too lighthearted of a scene with something so badass. Seriously. Overall his design was truly incredible and just... made your jaw drop with how much detail went into him. Then he got blown apart by a gun in the ocean. Le sigh.

Jetfire. I love you. Just... so much right now. He was beyond adorable. He had a very good amount of screentime and he was a wonderful mixture of humor and seriousness. The info dump was a tad much, but it had to be done somewhere, I suppose. I wanted to yank on his beard. :3 More squeeing of him later, yes.

Blackout. NOOOOOO....! Just when you finally came back to me, Optimus tore your head apart with his bare hands. ;-; RIP, man. I love you.

Sideways. Why did you have a name and robot mode if you had not even thirty seconds of screentime before being literally halved while driving? I expected you to piece yourself together and join in the fun, like when Starscream just kinda shoved his arm back on... but you didn't. Sadness. This is why Barricade bests you, and I miss him too.

Bumblebee. I love you. Nuff said. You already get way too much attention as it is. <3

I can comment more, but I'll stop for now without delving into plot issues. It's four in the morning and I'm seeing it again in IMAX in less than twelve hours. I'll stare at it and ponder sommore then. I know I'll grow to love the movie, but I also know that a lot of people are going to hate it to death and never stop bashing it until the end of time, because that's what they do. If anyone ever complains about Optimus Prime's flames I'm going to personally bash your skull in, because that's what EVERYONE seemed to do. Hate it, flame it, demean it, then somehow turn to love it? This concept/theory applies with pretty much every aspect of the Transformers movie. Hopefully that will happen with this movie, too, but I doubt it. Matt Moylan's going to have a field day (I'm so sick of that guy), and I'll be glad to leave an earful for him in his comments when he bashes someone for not being like G1 in some way or another.
